United Cigars has announced it will release a third Firecracker for 2023. This month, United Cigars will partner with Rojas Cigars for the Street Tacos Elote Firecracker. This is a release intended to coincide with next month’s Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

The Firecracker is a 3 1/2 x 50 that features a long fuse stemming from the cap. The series started as a concept created by David Garofalo as an exclusive to his Two Guys Smoke Shop stores to commemorate Independence Day. The first Firecracker was done by My Father Cigars based on the Don Pepin Original Label. The series morphed into an annual release with different manufacturers producing Firecrackers. Eventually, the series moved into Garofalo’s United Cigars distribution arm.

The Elote (E-Lo-Tay) is a famous Mexican dish more commonly known in the United States as Street Corn. A small flavorful snack comprised of grilled corn smothered in sauce, cheese, and cilantro. The cigar itself is an extension of the Street Tacos Barbacoa blend consisting of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. Production is handled at Tabacalera Flor de San Luis in Nicaragua. The cigars will be presented in 16-count boxes with a total production of 200 boxes (3,200 cigars). Pricing is set at $8.00 per cigar.

“Street Taco came about from my love for traditional Mexican street food and cigars,” said Noel Rojas, owner of Rojas Cigars in a press release. “The Elote Firecracker is a brilliant compliment to this blend.”

Director of Operations for United Cigars, Oliver Nivaud added, “Worlds collided when I first smoked the Street Taco from Rojas. My love of street tacos is well known, and the Elote Firecracker now completes my cravings as a smokable antojito.”

Many of the cigars in the Firecracker Series are intended to coincide with U.S. Independence Day celebrations. There have been some Firecracker releases for other celebrations such as Black Friday (HVC), Baseball Opening Day (Artista Cigars), St. Patrick’s Day (All Saints Cigars), and now Cinco de Mayo.

The Street Tacos Elote Firecracker will begin shipping on April 17, 2023.
