Plasencia 1865 has announced that industry veteran Jim Young has joined the company as an advisor and board member. Young will also take on the role of “Interim CEO” until a permanent candidate is named.We have the details here.

- Pennsylvania: The Pennsylvania legislature has introduced H.B. 1657, a bill that would remove smoking exemptions provided in the State’s 2008 Clean Indoor Act. Removing these exemptions would result in a widespread indoor smoking ban in Pennsylvania.
- U.S. Congress: Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02, H.R.5568) and Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL, S.2846) have introduced the CARE of Moms Act. Funding for this program would be accomplished through significant tobacco tax increases.
