In previous years, the “Big Board” has served as a guide to what releases companies have planned for the IPCPR/PCA Trade Show. It was meant to be a written walk of the trade show floor to find out what the companies would be showcasing.
This year, we will take the “Big Board” live for our coverage of “Summer of ’20.” We have listed 128 companies that are frequently covered on Cigar Coop or a major publication. We will be updating this in real-time as much as possible. The real-time link can be found by clicking the button below:
We will also be taking snapshots of the Big Board in “The Blog” so you can follow the progress of these companies. This will be done most likely on a weekly basis.
Prime Time Virtual Trade Show
Concurrent with our coverage of the cigar releases for the Summer of 2020, Prime Time Episode 148 featured a virtual trade show. On this event, we feature representatives from many of the leading cigar brands and companies out there who cover products being released this summer. The full show can be found in the video below.
Data Analysis (“Insider Baseball”)
If you have followed the pattern here of companies making their first product announcements of the summer, it has been one week a decent increase followed by a slower increase the following week. There was no surprise here as Week 8 only brought a 1.6% increase. The prior week was a 4.9% increase, but that was because of our Virtual Trade Show.
What the data doesn’t show is companies adding to their set of product announcements. While we haven’t gone back to calculate that data, we are seeing that data trend up.
Going into the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show, of 123 companies, only 23.58% went into that show without making an announcement. We are into August and we are at 52.34 – and closing in on 50%. Our end date will be somewhere between August 30th and September 21st, depending when we see the announcements essentially come to a halt.
Finally, if you are following the scoreboard at home, in the past eight weeks we have seen the needle move only 17.66% in terms of product releases.

While the information is meant to be as accurate as possible, we know there are probably some omissions or corrections needed. Unless we find them, only corrections from the manufacturer or representative of the manufacturer will be considered.
